TEETH WHITENING
Teeth whitening is an aesthetic procedure which aims in changing the intensity of color of natural teeth. Reason for teeth staining and discoloration could be smoking, consumption of tea, coffee, red wine, coke, etc. In such cases or just when people want a brighter smile teeth whitening could be performed. Bear in mind though that only natural teeth could be whiten. Fillings, veneers and crowns do not change their color after whitening. Changing these constructions should be considerate if teeth whitening is planned. If such constructions are included in the treatment plan their color should be chosen after the whitening procedure. The result is visible immediately after the procedure.
Procedure:
Teeth whitening is only performed after thorough scaling and polishing of the teeth. The procedure takes about an hour and a half and it is performed in the dental surgery. Prior the procedure the color of the teeth is determined by standardized shade. Gum barrier is applied, because the bleaching gal used for the procedure is highly concentrated and efficient. Then the whitening gel is applied to the teeth and activated with curing light. The results are visible immediately after the procedure and are registered with the same standardized shade. Some patients may have increased sensitivity to cold, hot and soar. This is only temporary and usually goes off without any treatment for couple of days. In rare cases application of fluoride gels may be needed to reduce the sensitivity. After teeth whitening procedure patients need to avoid consumption of tea, coffee, coke, red wine and smoking for about two weeks. In this period teeth are easily stained and consumption of these drinks may corrupt the result of the whitening. The procedure could be repeated in a year or two depending on the individual case. For a better and more permanent result office whitening could be combined with our home whitening day or night kits (with low concentration gels).
VENEERS
In cases when there are internal discoloration of the teeth (due to disease, antibiotics or fluoride intake during childhood) or they are chipped, crooked or strangely shaped veneers could be made to restore the aesthetics. Veneers represent small porcelain “plates” that are fixed to the front surface of the teeth. Thus the shape, the color and the position of the teeth could be restored with minimal preparation. Veneers are also used to close small gaps between teeth. After minimal preparation (drilling), impression is taken and the veneers are made in the dental technician lab. For the time needed by the lab temporary veneer could be placed.
DERMAL FILLERS
Derma-fill procedures are non-surgical aesthetic treatments used to restore the youthful appearance of the face by restoring the skin volume. They could be used to fill the natural mimic lines around the eyes and nose that start to form after the age of 25. They are also used to shape the lips and give them extra volume. We use hyaluronic acid (HYALURONICA®) to treat all signs of skin aging. It is a natural compound of the body and has essential part of skin structure as it holds water into skin dermis which keeps the fresh and youthful appearance of the skin. Hyaluronic acid also increases the skin elasticity and stimulates collagen synthesis. The procedure is proven safe by long worldwide clinical use. The durability of the fillers ranges from 6 to 12 months.
TOOTH JEWELS
Tooth jewels (gem stones or different art elements made of gold or white gold) could be placed to both crowns/veneers and to natural teeth. Placement of the jewel to natural tooth is easy, painless, safe and fast procedure. It is simply glued to the tooth surface without any damage to the tooth tissue (no preparation or drilling). Their removal when you decide to change your image is just as easy and does not leave any mark. Tooth jewels are thin and do not cause any discomfort or difficulty in maintaining perfect oral hygiene. On the contrary, since they attract the looks to your smile they stimulate you to brush your teeth more often and more efficient.
